Northlake Forsyth Training Program

The Forsyth Training Program is a self-contained unit of Northlake Volleyball in conjunction with our Forsyth gym. All schedules & information for Forsyth players will be found through this Forsyth Program page. Attendance at any club-wide DeKalb event is optional for Forsyth players. Members of other area clubs are welcome to join our Sunday Forsyth Training Program. Please contact kurt@nothlakevolleyball.com with any questions. |

How to Register
|
Northlake Volleyball Club will be offering training-only sessions in Forsyth County for players on the north side that desire training but may not have the time or financial resources to participate on Junior Olympic Travel Teams.
Enrollment is limited to 12 players per group. Classes will be taught by qualified instructors, many with college level coaching or playing experience.

Sunday Afternoons, Jan. 6th – March 30th 2008 (12 weeks of sessions)
Volleyball Skills,
2pm-4pm
Strength, Speed, Vertical Training presented by FormWell Fitness, 4pm-5pm

PROGRAM DETAILS:
|
Lesson plan for all 12 sessions provided in advance. Each session will cover one skill taught followed by repetition training to support the training and will finish with competition-oriented drills. |
|
Skills covered: Serve Receive, Individual Defense, General Attack Skills, Blocking, Setting, Team Offense, Team Defense, Serving, Competition Strategies, Emergency Skills, & Outside Hitting, Middle Attacking. Strength, Speed, & Vertical Training will be provided at the conclusion of each session |

Progress reports given to each player every 4 weeks

Coach O'Brien led her squad to the school's first-ever Great South Athletic Conference Championship and this past season, the team earned a GSAC runner-up finish for the second straight year. In 2005 O'Brien was voted as the league's Coach of the Year. |

Coach O'Brien has mentored 32 Academic All-Conference honorees, 19 All-Conference selections, a pair of GSAC Freshman of the Year, one league Player of the Year, and one Tournament MVP. |

Prior to her coaching career, she was a standout player at the University of Iowa. She is currently ranked 14th on the Iowa career blocks list and is 13th in career attack percentage. Additionally, O'Brien posted back-to-back top-10 finishes in the Big-10 Conference in blocks per game (97 & 98). |

To register please mail in two forms, the Player Info Form and Membership Agreement Form, and your check payable to Northlake Volleyball for $495. All registration forms are available here. Forsyth players are NOT required to attend Registration Day 11/14/07 at Henderson Middle School.
